More Bias At FBI, DOJ

by Andrew Zarowny, 12/14/2018

Despite the removal of 7 top officials at the FBI and the Justice Department, with others demoted, both entities still have considerable political bias. Namely against President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. The FBI missed a deadline to provide the House Oversight Committee with documents pertaining to the FBI raiding the home of a Clinton Foundation whistle-blower. The DOJ prevented federal prosecutor John Huber from testifying at that hearing, too! Meanwhile, prosecutors from the Southern New York office succeeded in getting former Trump attorney Michael Cohen to plead guilty on two non-crime charges related to alleged hush-money payments to a couple of porn actresses. A federal judge in Washington is trying to get the Robert Mueller team to turn over documents about the FBI interview of Michael Flynn in February, 2017.

Now, we are learning that the Mueller witch hunt, unable to find any wrong doing by President Trump on collusion with Russia or obstruction of justice, is turning its attention to possible Middle Eastern influence in the 2016 election, as well as corporate donations to the 2017 Trump inauguration ceremony. On the other hand, there is plenty of evidence of possible ′pay-for-play′ money to Bill and Hillary Clinton by Russia, Ukraine, Britain, France, Germany and several Middle Eastern countries. Not to mention corporate donations to the Barack Obama inaugurations in 2008 and 2012, plus his presidential library fund. But, these matters are not really being looked into with any seriousness.

The Michael Flynn case is a good example of the anti-Trump bias at the FBI and DOJ. Flynn′s name was illegally unmasked and leaked from intercepted phone calls by our intelligence agencies. Former Assistant Attorney General Sally Yates advised the Obama administration that Flynn′s contacts with the Russian ambassador to the United States, taking place during the post-election transition period, may be a violation of the Logan Act. An obscure law from the early 19th Century prohibiting U.S. citizens from discussing American foreign policy with representatives of other nations. Only about 7 criminal cases have been tried under the Logan Act since conceived nearly 200 years ago, none of which resulting in a conviction.

Flynn had been selected as the Trump administration′s National Security Advisor, giving him legitimate reasons for such contacts. Former FBI Director James Comey admitted last week that sending FBI agents to interview Flynn about the contacts, insisting that Flynn did not need a lawyer present, went beyond FBI protocols. Even then, all three FBI agents conducting the interview said that they did not believe Flynn lied on purpose when he got a few facts wrong. The 302 documents concerning the interviews were mysteriously rewritten some 7 months later after FBI agent Peter Strozk was dismissed from the Mueller probe when his anti-Trump text messages to FBI lawyer Lisa Page, his mistress, came to light.

Eventually, Flynn copped a guilty plea to lying to FBI agents during that interview after the Mueller probe had bankrupted Flynn financially and threatened to prosecute his son on another matter as well. The abuse of power we have seen from Mueller, along with others from the FBI and DOJ, against President Trump and those in his campaign and administration is shocking. The Michael Cohen case is another example of how this abuse has taken place.

On behalf of his client, then Citizen Donald Trump, Cohen helped arrange for payments to two porn actresses to prevent them from publicly speaking about alleged affairs with Citizen Trump. Being a well known public figure, with a wife, family and a successful business enterprise, it is no wonder why Citizen Trump would want to arrange for the two women to remain silent. Cohen made payments to Stormy Daniels himself, being paid back by his client, invoiced as part of his legal fees. Cohen also arranged for former Playboy model Karen McDougal to be paid for her story by the parent company of the National Enquirer, AMI.

The DOJ Southern New York District Office was tipped off by the Robert Mueller team about Cohen. Cohen′s offices and residences were raided with documents and computers seized. They eventually charged Cohen with a number of crimes, including tax fraud and committing fraud against a bank to get a loan, as well as two charges of illegal campaign financing, namely the payments to the porn actresses. The problem is that neither of these payments are actual campaign donations. Even if they were, in a worse case scenario, there would be no jail time involved, just a fine.

Barack Obama got nailed with a campaign finance violation when some $2 million dollars was not properly reported. His campaign was fined $375,000, more than the total of both payments to the porn actresses. The Hillary Clinton campaign misreported payments of over $12 million dollars to Perkins Coie law firm, the money which went to Fusion GPS and paid for the Christopher Steele dossier, used to get a FISA surveillance warrant against the Trump campaign. No charges have yet to be made on that matter. Add to that some $17 million dollars in U.S. taxpayer money paid out to people who filed complaints on some 240 members of Congress! Many of those were involving sexual harassment. Some of the Congressmen even used taxpayer money from their office budgets. Where are the criminal charges and investigations on those?

Obviously, we have a two-tiered justice system. If you are President Trump, or somebody connected to him, then the FBI and DOJ will come after you and make your life hell. If you are anybody else, then you get a pass, or at most, a slap on the wrist. This is not what America is supposed to be about.
